Over 40 years ago the Leica CL was born. It was too successful, more so than the then new flagship, the Leica M5. Something had to give and it was the CL. Leica scrapped the baby, alongside the ill-fated M5, abut fortunately kept the bathwater in the form of the unmetered M4 series....
