CameraBeta here in China has published details of what it says is the specification of the promised Panasonic LX-200, successor to the current LX-100. While this could be just speculation, the details are extremely plausible.
Accord to this report, the 200 will house a 20MP Sony four-thirds sensor (increased from the current 13MP) while sensitivity will be doubled from 25600 to 51200. It is also likely the camera will feature a larger OLED viewfinder and a tilting screen, similar to that found in the GX8, which can be flipped back, and aimed at the selfie market according to Camerabeta.
In performance terms the autofocus speed will be improved to as little as 0.07 seconds by new DFD focusing techniques. The camera is also likely to feature a built-in flash and an integral neutral density filter to facilitate the use of wider apertures in bright conditions without the need for accessory filters. The current model features a maximum (electronic) shutter speed of 1/16000s and there is no indication of whether or not this will be reduced further.
There is no news on the lens so for the time being we can assume that it will remain the same f/1.7-2.8 zoom, 10.9-34mm, Leica DC-Vario-Summilux as in the current LX-100 (and the Leica D-Lux). This lens has a full-frame equivalence of 24-75mm (because it addresses a slightly cropped version of the four-thirds sensor it has a ratio of 1:2.2 instead of the 1:2 found in Panasonic and Olympus MFT shooters).
So far there is no news on the date of announcement, particularly whether or not it will arrive before this September’s Photokina in Cologne.

Cool…agree. I am using Sony RX100 at the moment and like the idea of Panasonic LX-100 because bigger sensor and more professional look. When i saw this on CameraBeta I was surprised at news that the new camera would have tilting screen. I think it makes more complicated and more bulky. I hope this information is not right.
This model line has grown in size since the LX 3 of 2008. I hope that, if the new camera contains a tilting screen and built in flash, we do not see too much more growth in size. I have the LX 100 and use it for social and some ‘walking about’ photography. It is an excellent camera. The autofocus speed is excellent and is better than all Fujifilm cameras, even the new X-Pro 2. The image quality is good, but not as good as the Fujifilm models. Most cameras nowadays are pretty good in the IQ department anyway.
