Portrait of a little girl — the flower in grandpa’s eye

Macfilos Weekender by Rudiger Wolf

Life provides many ups and downs.  Two years ago, my daughter and grand-daughter ended up on our doorstep. They have been living with us in Northern California for three years.  My grand-daughter Ashley and I go for frequent walks near home.  Almost always I carry my camera — she is one of my favourite subjects — and most of the time, is pretty enthusiastic about that role.  She is a flower in my life! This shot was taken with my Leica M240 and 50mm Apo-Summicron in March 2017.

  1. This is a beautiful photograph. Everything is just right- the smile, the focus point, the flower and the colour rendering.
Enjoy photographing her while you can-they soon grow up.

    • John, you are so right. As I tell my children…. Grand-children are God’s gift to grand-parents. Blending time with the grand children and photography is about as good as it gets. Thanks for your kind comments.
