Britain’s newest pop-up camera store is on top of Moel Hebog in Snowdonia, Wales. It opened on World Photographic Day on August 19 as a high spot in the national Wex Photographic chain.

Wex says that in addition to being one of Britain’s most remote locations, Moel Hebog is a magnet for photographers. So the company decided to go where the customers were climbing.
The little store, which is sponsored by Sony, offers a wide range of photographic equipment, and knowledgeable staff are on hand to ensure you get the best out of your gear. No doubt they hope your backpack will be heavier on the way down.
There’s no mention of how long this temporary showroom will remain popped up on the mountain, so we’d advise making a call to Wex before donning your hiking gear.
Well, we know it’s a publicity stunt. But it’s fun, all the same.
A cup of coffee works wonders in supporting Macfilos
Did you know that Macfilos is run by a dedicated team of volunteers? We rely on donations to help pay our running costs. And even the cost of a cup of coffee will do wonders for our energy levels.
I’m blown away.
Ich folge Ihnen…
Handy, I suppose, if you run out of film.
Ah, they didn’t mention film in the press release!
Reminds me a bit of the Prada store in Marfa, TX…
Great idea for a temporary camera shop.
I’m thinking of a pop-up blog site to promote Macfilos. But since I can no longer climb mountains and certainly couldn’t erect a tent, I would need a suitable location and a strong colleague. Perhaps I can set up shop at Brooklands Museum; that wouldn’t be too challenging.
And why not! If you pick out a selection of articles (short ones) and have them printed out as pamphlets for distributing at Brooklands I would think that would get folks interested in checking out the site.
I don’t know what to think
Brilliant.
I like it!
