Leica Camera UK has reopened its Harrods store, rejoining the global network of around 120 own-brand stores. Now occupying an area almost four times the size of the original space, which was initially opened in April 2019, the 173 square meter sales area will feature all Leicaโs product categories, including Photo, Sports Optics, Watches and Smart Projection.
In addition, the area will house a private classroom for Leica Akademie workshops that doubles as a quiet space for client sales when necessary. The existing exhibition walkway leading to the store will remain in place and offer a series of rotating, culturally relevant photographic exhibits.
Design elements
The new store has relocated within Harrods and incorporates interesting design elements specially created for this historic department store. These include the use of dark walnut throughout the interior to offer a relaxed setting for the Leica experience, a mix of old-world charm with Leicaโs modern design principles.
Special, bespoke furniture, housing the Cine 1 short-throw laser projector, helps create a home atmosphere, offering clients a chance to imagine their living spaces from within Harrods.
Staying connected
Leica Store Harrods will not only be a point of sale for customers, but also a place where existing clients can stay connected with the brand and engage more deeply through Akademie-organised photo walks and Customer Care days. Old cameras and lenses can be assessed and if necessary fixed, strengthening Leicaโs commitment to its community.
More details on the new store on its website here. Leica Store Harrods is open from 10am-9pm Monday to Saturday and 11.30am-6pm on Sundays, located on the 5th Floor, Harrods, 87-135 Brompton Road, London, SW1X 7XL.
