Apple consolidates position as world’s most valuable company

Apple’s stock price has been north of $400 this week and closed at nearly $412 yesterday after soaring to over $420 during the day. The company has consolidated its position as the most valuable in the world, with a market capitalisation of $382 billion, some $23 billion ahead of Exxon. It is less than a year since there was great excitement as Apple passed Microsoft in market cap. Now, the Cupertino company will soon be worth more than the combined value of Microsoft and Google.
