ReadNow Mac desktop app for Instapaper

I’m not alone in my enthusiasm for Instapaper. Dealing with my long list of RSS feeds would be a daily chore without the ability to send interesting stuff to Instapaper for reading later. The Instapaper apps on the iPad and iPhone are great, but up to now there has been no native OS X client application. So I am grateful to David Sparks of MacSparky for pointing me in the direction of ReadNow from developer mischneider. I downloaded it this morning, right after reading David’s review and I am impressed.

The layout of ReadNow reminds me of Reeder, which is my preferred OS X app for trawling through all the feed items (on iOS I use Mr.Reader). As David says, Instapaper’s web interface is pretty good, but I agree that there is no substitute for a native application. ReadNow links to both Instapaper and Read it Later accounts although so far I have tried it only with the former. It’s too early to reach any conclusions, but I like the application.
