Ebook prices set to fall as agency model crumbles

Prices of ebooks could soon fall following an anticipated settlement between publishers and the US Justice Department. According to BlogKindle today, the settlement could see the end of the Agency Model which was imposed by the publishers, principally in an effort to stop Amazon reducing prices. If this is true, it could lead to a substantial drop in ebook costs, particularly in the Kindle Store. This is good news for consumers, if not for publishers.
