MPs’ iPads costing £225 a month each in data charges

This comes as no surprise. Members of Parliament have been given iPads to help their productivity. Yet it has been revealed that these grace-and-favour tablets are costing us (you, me, the taxpayer) no less than £225 a month in data charges. How, you wonder, can anyone rack up £225 a month when a 3GB contract can be had for £15 or £20. Easy: If you are an MP don’t have to pay for it yourself, so why seek for a good deal. And why worry about the cost of downloading movies and other stuff that is not remotely relevant to your job as an MP? Politicians do themselves no favours, it seems.
