The four-year anniversary of the Apple App Store

Apps are so much a part of our digital lives, not to mention the abbreviation “app” itself, that we forget that it is just four years ago that the concept was born. Up to then we tended to talk about computer “programs.” Now it is all apps. Distimo has taken a look at the development of the iOS App store from its launch on 10 July 2008 to now, with over 650,000 apps in stock.
