OS X Dashboard: Lights on but no one’s home

I haven’t thought much about Dashboard in recent years. I thought it was was brilliant when I first encountered it in OS X 10.4 Tiger. That was the day I set up my Mini, my first Mac and the start of my post-PC existence.

Since then Dashboard has sort of stuck around and I forget it’s there most of the time. About the only widget I now use is iStat Pro, the useful system monitoring application. ArsTechnica asks whether Dashboard can be revived, or is it a ghost town.
