If there is one lesson from the Honangate affair, it is to use a unique credit card for your all-important Apple ID. It’s not just a question of money, it’s one of potentially life-crippling data loss.
Since some sites, including Amazon, are pretty prodigal with the last four numbers of your card, it is in your immediate interest to change one of those cards, preferably the one linked to your Apple ID.
Other security breaches can often be sorted out quickly, but to be locked out of your Apple ID and to stand by helplessly as all your devices and your valuable records are expunged is a total disaster.
