Fast broadband is now more important to house buyers than somewhere to park the car. The report, by Rightmove and covered here in The Telegraph, says that good broadband can add 5% or £15,000 to the value of a typical £300,000 ($470,000) house. In pricy London, that premium probaby translates to £45-50,000, about the same as the extra you would expect to pay for an off-street car space.
