Yesterday I was tempted when I saw a Kindle Paperwhite 3G on sale at a local Waterstones’ bookstore for £109, which is normally the price of the wifi-only device.
Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I hotfooted it back to town early this morning, card in hand. The 3G Paperwhite was still there with its price tag of £109. So I tried to buy one: “Sorry, we a not selling the 3G model, just the wifi Kindles.”
I protested that the display model was equipped with 3G and was told that this was correct. The display models are 3G but only the wifi model is to be sold in Waterstones. Confused? I am.
