Google’s $1bn London headquarters

Google is investing $1bn (£650) in a new UK headquarters on a 2.4-acre plot at Kings Cross, close to the Eurostar terminus. It is expected to be ready for occupancy in 2016. Matt Britin, Google vice-president for Europe is enthusiastic: “We are committing further to the UK–where computing and the web were invented.” Quite right, too.
