iOS: Quick settings concept unveiled

Android users and jail-broken iPhone fans have had access to quick settings panels for years. Legal iOS users, on the other hand, have to search menus for some of the most often used settings such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Do Not Disturb.

My own particular beef is the frustration of changing time zones (hidden in General/Date & Time) and remembering also to go to Mail, Contacts, Calendar and then scrolling right to the very bottom to change the time zone support. Several times I have ended up an hour early or an hour late for an appointment after forgetting time zone support for calendar.

ALManimation has posted a superb overview of the problem and possible solution here on The Verge. Included is this video of how things could work. Let’s hope Apple is taking notice.
