There are dozens of note applications available for Apple devices. Most offer cloud synchronisation through Dropbox, iCloud or another service such as Symperium. I use several, but mainly for writing drafts in preparation for publication.
None, though, is as comprehensive and as talented as Evernote. Evernote stores everything you can throw at it, from plain text to web pages, photos, sketches and reference material of all types. It has a native Mac application as well as iOS apps for iPad and iPhone, with syncing between all devices via Evenote’s own server.
To get the best out of it I keep a copy of Brett Terpstra’s book, Evernote Essentials, on all my devices and it has been a lifesaver on many occasions. Brett is probably the world’s leading expert on Evernote and what it can do for you. His guide takes you through the Evernote system step by step. It is also constantly updated by Brett and, once you have purchased the book, all future updates are free. Frankly, I couldn’t manage Evernote without Brett’s commonsence advice and assistance.
