iPhone 5S: The world’s only 64-bit smartphone

The new A7 chip in the iPhone 5S brings impressive speed performance increases, up to five times as fast as last year’s iPhone 5. But what might have been overlooked is that this is the world’s first 64-bit system in a smartphone. And Apple’s iWork applications have been update to run more efficiently on 64-bit architecture. While the announcement of the 5S may have lacked some enthusiasm, the under-the-hood improvements are impressive indeed.
