At last, after years of procrastination by several governments, Alan Turing has been given a Royal Pardon for the conviction which led directly to his early death. It is a small but symbolic act which is long overdue. This man, whose efforts shortened the war just as effectively as the contribution of any soldier, was hounded to suicide, if suicide it was, by an ungrateful and bigoted system. Now he has finally been vindicated.
