It is no secret that I love bags, especially bags with a purpose. I’m a great fan of Tom Bihn, Waterfield Designs, Billingham, Crumpler and a dozen other brands. I am also a slave to good design. That’s why I coveted the new shiny black Mac Pro cylinder the minute I saw its picture. This is perhaps the coolest computer I have ever seen. My heart says buy, Jiminy Cricket on my shoulder says don’t. Jiminy is right without a doubt, but that doesn’t stop the pangs of desire. These can only become acute when I see a MacPro in all its glory at my nearest Apple Store. And the appearance of special MacPro bags will add to this angst.

The Waterfield Designs case is a triumph of function and can accommodate everything you need except that 30in monitor. It’s also reasonably priced at $129 (£79). The British-made Mac Pro Carry Bag from the Flight Case Company is a similar price before tax (£95 including VAT) and is intended to protect and transport the MacPro without adding too much bulk. It’s a tough decision but one I can happily retweet to procrastination purgatory until I give in and buy a Pro.
Its the updated Mac Classic bag!
