When the Leica M60 edition camera was launched at Photokina last Tuesday I immediately noticed German star photographer Michael Agel carrying one over his shoulder as an everyday camera. It appeared to be his camera of choice for his days at the exhibition and he appeared to have no qualms about the possibility of a scratch or two.

I imagine very few of the 600 sets will actually be used. Most will be stashed away as an investment. So it was fascinating to see Michael using the screenless camera in the wild. He demonstrated it to me and I was interested to see the special leather half-case with integral strap. The steel M60 has no strap lugs so a case is essential if you wish to carry it around.

How many buyers of this set at £12,000 will take it out and about, I wonder?
