Leica announces firmware updates for digital Ms to cater for new Summarit lenses

Leica has announced firmware updates for all digital models, largely to provide for the new range of f/2.4 Summarit lenses which were announced at Photokina. The factory support page, which you can find here, provides full installation instructions and links to the individual firmware files for M8, M9, M9-P, M-E, Monochrom and Leica M (240) and M-P. I recommend updating even if you do not intend to use the new Summarits.

    • Not that I can tell but then I haven’t used either camera since update. I suspect it is just the lenses but there could be a few other tweaks. I’d upgrade if I were you.
