If you have around £1,000 to spend on a Fuji system, which is the best choice as a street camera? There are three main contenders. The new X100T, with its fixed 35mm-equivalent lens, is the archetypal street shooter: Small, light, dedicated, it is by far the most popular in its class. Many see it as the modern-day Leica M3. It’s pretty gorgeous to boot. Yet with its fixed lens it is a something of a cul-de-sac if it’s the only camera you can afford. I suspect it is bought mainly as a second device by people already owning another system.
Fuji’s interchangeable X-Series system cameras, however, can serve equally well as street cameras yet offer much more versatility. They can truly be the only camera you need. I have had a rethink after using the X-T1 and both the X-E2 and the X100S, predecessor to the new X100T.
