Fuji today launched a whole raft of new equipment, including a replacement for the X-A1 entry-level X-Series camera, a new enthusiast QX2 and two new XC zooms. In addition there are three new FinePix models.
The X-A2 is a relatively minor upgrade to the earlier X-A1 and is distinguished by an articulating screen which can be turned round and raised above the top of the camera when composing self shots. It will be sold as a kit with a new Mark II version of the budget XC16-50mm (24-75mm effective). The lens is cosmetically the same as the older model but has a reduced minimum focus distance of 15/35cm compared with the previous 30/40cm. It offers an aperture range of f/3.5-5.6. The longer XC50-230 Mark II has a full-frame focal range equivalent of 76-350mm and an aperture range of f/4.5-6.7. A two-lens kit will also be available but there is no news on whether the lenses will be available separately.
Available in the UK stores from March, the X-A2 and XC16-50 kit will cost £450.
The new X-A2 features a 12Mp 2/3″ X-Trans sensor and an f/1.8-4.9 optical zoom equivalent to 25-100mm in full-frame format. It will come in black or silver and will retail at £330 when it arrives in March.
