Oyez, Oyez, the first Monochrom tests are in. It’s positive news for Leica’s new black-and-white baby

Shortly after the 3pm Wetzlar-time release of the new Typ 246 M Monochrom, several of Leica’s pre-testers, Sean Reid, Jono Slack and Gregory Simpson, went public with their findings. The consensus is that the 246 (codenamed Elliott) is a worthwhile step forward for owners of the original MM (Henri, as Jono Slack reminds us), particularly in terms of performance at higher sensitivities.
