I have to admit I love camera fairs. It’s not just the myriad bits of photographic ephemera, it’s the atmosphere and the visitors that makes the day. I had a fantastic day yesterday at the London Photographica fair and I’m not booked in for two more within the next few weeks.
Sidcup seduces
First up, on Sunday, May 31 I’ll be making the short journey to the Sidcup Camera Fair organised by another Greek friend, George Kozobolis.

You can find it at the Kemnal Technology College, Seven Oaks Way, Sidcup, Kent DA14 5AA. This is a relatively small venue but invariably interesting and good for a bargain or two. Early birds get in at 8 am.
Bièvres beckons
A longer trek beckons when I join Ivor Cooper and the gang from Red Dot Cameras on a drive to Bièvres, near Paris, on the weekend of 6/7 June. It’s the the weekend of internationally recognised Bièvres Photo Fair which attracts a host of British visitors and enthusiasts from all over Europe.
Ivor has planned a busy weekend for us, leaving London on the Friday and a couple of nights in Bièvres with the photo fair on the Saturday and Sunday. Even if the spoils aren’t that good we will at least get in some good food, wine and conversation. See you there?
