A keen Chinese Leica photographer, Saigon Matches on Weibo, has had a little accident with his M9. He had it perched on a high balcony in order to get an atmospheric shot with his D-Lux. Instead he got more than he bargained for when a gust of wind sent the Leica plummeting to the ground. Dashing down the stairs, full of angst as can be imagined, Saigon M found his beloved camera more or less intact, apart from a dented lens hood, but the surrounding wall of the swimming pool had fared less well. I knew Leicas were heavy and built like brick outhouses, but this is proof if ever proof were needed. The red A&A half case seems to have fared quite well also.
I’m grateful to Michael Zhang at Petapixel for the translation and link to Weibo.
