The inventiveness of street performers apparently knows no bounds. The competition these days in a big city such as London is so intense that only the most ingenious succeed. Here’s a good example—the Mad Hatter and his amazingly complex tea party, propped against the Glasshouse Street entrance to Piccadilly Circus station this afternoon.

Alice was conspicuously missing, probably gone for a Big Mac, but the array of props was quite astounding. I just hope he doesn’t drink too much of The Cup That Cheers otherwise he’ll have to pack that lot away, table and chairs included, before finding the nearest gents.

I had the Leica Monochrom 246 and 50mm Apo-Summicron in the bag, hence the black-and-whitedness of the photographs.

  1. That is a great lens Mike, and an excellent subject too.

I’ll have to get a mortgage to get one of those.
