Leica Goodies: Dust off that cheque book, polish up that credit card

Time to dust off the cheque book and polish the credit card. Leica is again pushing the boundaries of photographic excellence with some new goodies. First off comes the D-Lux Solid Gray which comes in two-tone silver and grey with American spelling right there in the box. This “high performance compact” will produce exactly the same results as the boring old black monotone D-Lux and, encouragingly, costs exactly the same—£825 including VAT.

If that doesn’t float your boat (I prefer the black finish of this excellent little camera), stand by for the 0.95 premium accessories collection in partnership with S.T.Dupont.

There’s lots here for the collector, from the S.T.Dupont 0.95 Fountain Pen at £575, through the 0.95 Lighter (£575), the Roller Ball (£475), the Ballpoint Pen (£360) down to the cheap old 0.95 Keyring at a tempting £110. But if you are seduced by any of these goodies, don’t forget to add a new special Noctilux, one of a limited edition of 95 and featuring an engraved white-filled 0.95 motif on the barrel. This costs £9,500 so, unless you are indeed scraping the barrel, the complementary accessories can be bought as an afterthought.

The 0.95 Noctilux limited edition features stealthy dark engravings for optimum visibility in low light (I am disappointed to find it doesn’t come with 0.95 wide-aperture S.T.Dupont glasses) and a bright 0.95 aperture infill in case you forget this is a limited edition. At £9,500, however, this is one lens that is likely to stay in the safe until collector lust pushes up the price.

Soon be Christmas.
