Kai Wong: All the Leica you’ll ever need

Our review of the Leica M262, published last month, has been one of the most successful articles ever to appear on Macfilos.

For a day or two it was neck and neck with the Leica Q update but the M262 is now powering ahead.

This success can prove only one thing: There is enormous interest in the concept of a stripped-down, basic digital rangefinder. Lose a bit more electronic stuff and bulk and the M could soon become the enthusiast’s dream, a digital M3. Kai Man Wong of DigitalRevTV, reporting from Cambridge, has a fun take on the 262 and reaches a predictable conclusion: It is all the Leica you will ever need. I tend to agree and it’s the pick of the bunch if you are looking for a new rangefinder.

  1. I guess we (at least some of us) might find out in the fullness of time, whether Kai is wrong and indeed that is more Leica than we will ever need.

We might still be getting more of an M3 type of body… which would be less Leica… sort of.

Or it might disappoint in some way, in which case, I could opt for an M-P! Or even an MP.

    Or a Fuji….

    🙂

    Edge of seat stuff.
