It hardly seems two years since the last Photokina—when Leica launched the M60 Edition, the D-Lux, V-Lux, M-A, M-P and a quartet of faster Summarit lenses. Yet I’m soon going to have to book my tickets for Cologne for the 2016 event which takes place from September 20 to 25. It’s an event requiring a great deal of stamina and a well-oiled voice box, not to mention a supple shutter finger. But it is one of the great events of the photographic calendar and well worth a visit.
This year, again, Leica will have a big presence and is to be the “official photography partner of Photokina 2016,” whatever that signifies.
The Leica stand in Hall 2.1 has been completely redesigned as a professional photographers’ Mecca where visitors will be able to find advice on a broad spectrum of Leica professional tools and services. The S, SL and M ranges will be in the forefront, with special emphasis on the CW Sonderoptik Cine lenses.
Leica Camera AG will also be staging an impressive “Masters of Photography” exhibition in the 2,000 square metre Leica Gallery in Hall 1. This comprises 15 separate series of photographs by leading photographers such as Bruce Gilden, Alex Webb, Jacob de Boer and Per-Anders Peterson.
The Leica gallery will be open to visitors from ten to six during the exhibition.

Could the X100F (or whatever it is going to be called) be shown at the show I wonder?
I dunno…. But I think it is highly probable. The 100T is due for an upgrade.
