Apple seem to have digested iPad weekend and now the announcements are coming thick and fast. According to Gizmodo and MacRumors and other sites, journalists have been invited to a "sneak preview of the next generation of iPhone software." This will be the much-heralded iPhone OS 4.0. Among developments that pundits have listed are some form of multi-tasking, similar to Exposé in OS X, and a unified inbox for Mail. My view, for what it is worth, is that the new OS, which will be mirrored on the iPad, will include features to answer some of the initial criticism of the iPad. Limited multi-tasking will definitely be welcomed by all users.
