So now we know the facts, after all the speculation. 450,000 iPad sales in five days, despite the fact that many people are waiting for the 3G version, is well up to expectations. But I'm staggered to hear that 600,000 iBooks and 3.5 million iPad apps have been downloaded. Already, according to Steve Jobs, there are 3,500 iPad apps in the store. He also confirmed that 50 million iPhones and 35 million iPod touch units had been sold since they were launched.
We can expect iPad sales to rush upwards at the end of this month when the 3G models arrive in the USA and all models become available in major markets throughout the world. With all the publicity the device has received there will be major pent-up demand around the world as the end of the month approaches.
