Apple have just announced that the iPad will be launched on international markets on May 28 and have listed the British prices. The cheapest 16GB wifi only model costs ยฃ429 ($630). The 32GB is ยฃ499 ($732) and the 64GB is ยฃ599 ($879). 3G models are ยฃ529 ($776), ยฃ599 ($879) and ยฃ699 ($1,025) respectively. Note, however, that whereas US prices are quoted before sales tax, European prices always include sales tax. In Britain sales tax (VAT) is 17.5%, so this accounts for a significant differential.
Customers will be able to pre-order the device in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on May 10.
