iPhone 4: Why 600,000 orders came in on first day

It's easy to see the pent-up demand for the new iPhone 4. It's the first radical redesign of the iPhone since the first generation came out three years ago. In that time over 100 million iOs devices have been sold and millions with first and generation phones have been putting off buying until something much better comes along. Well, it's here and it's absolutely no surprise that first-day pre-orders were over 10 times greater than when the 3GS came out last year. Looks like Apple is on another roll with this one.
