The first Kindle books I read, entirely on my iPhone, were the Millennium trilogy from Stieg Larsson. All my friends have been addicted to these first and final books from Swedish author Larsson who died before the first novel was published. So it’s no surprise to find that the trilogy has been Amazon’s star Kindle performer with no fewer than one million downloads.
Electronic book downloads are booming everywhere, especially in Asia, and I believe it is Larsson who has done more to get things moving in the west than any other author. It’s poignant to realise that Larsson, who was very technically aware and a Mac fan, as been responsible, posthumously, for the creation of a new market he couldn’t have envisaged.
