Antennagate fizzles out

What a lot of fuss there was over the summer with Apple’s antennagate problem. Now we hardly hear anything about it and, for sure, it hasn’t dented iPhone sales in the slightest. It’s another example of something drummed up by a few people, particularly in the press, and turned into a major problem. I’d guess that the vast majority of iPhone users wouldn’t have had a clue if it hadn’t received so much coverage. I remember a Microsoft executive stating confidently that the iPhone antenna problem was Apple’s Vista. Hardly.

I was reminded of all this as I downloaded the iPhone Case application in order to secure a free case for my iPhone 4. I don’t really need one, but it’s there so I’ve ordered it. If you want one you have until September 30 to put in your claim. With luck, this will be the last we will hear of antennagate.
