In the past I've been a big critic of Vodafone's spartan Mac mobile broadband software. It was both frustrating and incapable. In direct contrast to the Windows software, the Mac app was ultra basic and couldn't even send or receive SMS messages.
Recently I downloaded the new VMB (Vodafone Mobile Broadband) package and have been delighted with the greater functionality, including SMS. It also pops up to manage all connections – available wifi, internet and Airport. When the Vodafone 3G modem is connected the VMB utility shows current session usage and total period usage. This is essential data when you are on a limited scheme (mine is capped at 3GB). At last, as a Mac user, I don't feel shortchanged.
