Ben Brooks, a self-confessed case and bag junky, has discovered hidden talents in the new iPad Smart Covers. Apart from conceding, ever so reluctantly, that the black leather Smart Cover he bought for his new device is probably the only protection he needs, he has found through use that the cover does actually clean the screen as it goes along. This is something Apple claim, but it seemed a bit far-fetched until Ben noticed it was really doing its job, probably as the closed iPad was jiggled around while being carried. There’s only one snag: The folds in the protective cover, where the soft lining doesn’t touch the screen, leave a distinct line.
