iPad2: London stocks low but no lines; white popular

At the Covent Garden store in London and there are no queues for the iPad2 on Saturday afternoon. Stocks of 3G models are zero but wi-fi iPads are still here. Contrary to what I’ve heard from the USA, staff here report that the white models have been very popular.

There are plentiful supplies of Smart Covers so I bought a black leather cover for my new iPad. The quality is greats and, like everyone else, I’m I pressed by the one-click fixing and the way the cover clings to the screen when closed. I still feel the back is a little vulnerable but I will consider a Zagg film protector to make sure I don’t collect any scratches or dings. As it is, though, the Smart Cover folds flush with the back of the device and will offer a lot of protection. It’s when the smart cover is folded to form a stand that there is the risk of damaging the aluminium back.

(Later on Saturday reports suggested that all iPad stocks were gone)
