I have a friend who is mad about iPhones but hasn’t yet upgraded his long-in-the-tooth 3GS. Why? He has a desperate and unquenchable desire for a white model. It’s a sad situation, but he’s been fence sitting for months now. I have no doubt he will be delighted to hear renewed rumours that the white unicorn is at last hoving into sight. I, of course, have handed out sage advice to wait for iPhone 5, black or white, but it has fallen on deaf ears.
If Apple do introduce a white device in the next month or so, it will be a smart move. What better way to give an elderly pensioner a new lease of life? Perhaps they’ve had this up their sleeve all along: create a demand for a unicorn then let it loose at the last minute.
