Apple buy iCloud and could rebrand MobileMe

Good that Apple have indeed bought the iCloud domain and, as I predicted on April 28, it now seems likely that this new title will take over the synchronisation features of MobileMe in addition to the new music streaming services. Frankly, if MobileMe name didn’t already exist, iCloud could do the lot, including acting as an email domain. A wider use for iCloud is supported by the Wall Street Journal in an article on April 29. It will be interesting to see how Apple play this when announcement time comes along.
