Apple moves on: from desktop to world mobile leader

I just love Horace Dediu’s graphs. Somehow the salient points of his arguments just jump out from the screen. No more so than in this assessment of the current state of play for Apple: Apple has moved on. See below how, over the past few years, Apple has moved from a niche computer manufacturer to a global purveyor of mobile equipment. The iPhone story is truly staggering, especially for anyone who knew the company prior to 2007. When Steve Jobs took over the reins 15 years ago Michael Dell famously delared he should close down Apple and give the money back to the shareholders. Now Apple is ten times the size of Dell. Some advice is just better not taken.
