One morning this week, at 11 am, I peeked into the Sony Centre at my local mall in West London. Apart from two black-shirted staff twiddling their thumbs in a corner, there wasn’t a person in sight. Round the corner, two minutes later, the Apple Store had dozens of customers and dozens of staff, the usual scrum for the demo devices and the credit card readers in constant use. Perhaps this helps explains the problem with Sony.
