Now here’s a good idea. From April this year all restaurants in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur are to be compelled to offer free wifi. The new law also applies to bars, pubs, cafes and club lounges that are larger than 120 square meters. I have long thought that the modest cost of providing free wifi is more than repaid by customer loyalty. Starbucks and other coffee chains have already made a good start in Britain and the ploy seems to work. So why not pass a similar law here?
