eBook device sales are booming and you might think it premature to cast doubt on their future. But many informed commentators believe that the dedicated e-ink reader, even the mighty Kindle, will eventually lose out to the more versatile tablet. Matt Alexander of ONE37.net believes that the time is coming when cut-down “pseudo tablets” such as the Kindle Fire and the Barnes & Noble Nook (not to mention the full-on tablet such as the iPad) take over from e-ink. As far as I’m concerned, the jury is out. That said, it’s an interesting article and worth a read.
