Halliburton’s adoption of iOS is yet more bad news for RIM

Halliburton, one of the world’s largest energy service corporations, with over 70,000 employees in 70 countries, has decided to ditch BlackBerry in favour of iOS devices. Says AppleInsider:

The loss of a major client like Halliburton is only the latest example of RIM’s downfall in the corporate world. Just last month, the company’s co-CEOs and chairmen stepped down following the company’s struggles to compete with Apple’s iPhone and iPad, as well as the Google Android mobile platform.

The switch comes after research into both Apple’s mobile platform and Google’s Android operating system led Halliburton to the conclusion that “the iOS platform offered the best capabilities, controls and security for application development.”
