iMessage for Android: Sending your Apple ID details to China

iMessage on your Android device? Sounds like a good idea and my initial reaction was positive as I envisaged free text conversations with my few friends who are not Appleadicts. But after reading Mike Beasley’s report in 9to5 Mac I am not so sure. Apparently the developers of iMessage Chat for Android route all messages via a server in China. And who is to guarantee that all those Apple IDs being fed into the app will remain secure? Apparently, according to Beasley, there is also a possibility that the app could be used to download malware to your Android device. One to miss for the time being, I think. Back to SMS.
