1588, Spanish Armada scattered; 2015, Drake meets his comeuppance

It took only 427 years but Sir Francis Drake has met his Nemesis. In 1588 Drake scattered the Spanish Armada and saved the Virgin Queen’s bacon. In 2015 the British have been vanquished by the wily Spanish in the form of Santander Bank. A solitary Barclays Boris bike pedals off into the sunset amidst a sea of Santander red. I am not a user of Boris’s bikes but they have certainly brightened up the street scene around London. And photographers love them for testing out their lenses and depth of field. They have rapidly become a photographic cliché, but this has never stopped me. This bright array was snapped today on the Sony A7II with the Zeiss 24-70mm zoom.
