Japan Matsuri 2015: Oriental flavours under Nelson’s Column

Every year Japanese culture and food invades London’s Trafalgar Square. It’s sushi under the watchful gaze of Admiral Lord Nelson. Saturday was the annual Japan Matsuri festival and I went along with the Leica Q to grab a few snaps for the record.

  1. Hey Mike! I’m the girl in the colorful kimono ensemble – usually I attend such events in cosplay, so that was an off-duty day for me and I’m glad the photos turned out well 🙂

Hope you enjoyed the sights and sounds of Matsuri (along with the food if you got the chance!)

    • Carol, thanks for your comments and, yes, I did enjoy the festival. There was certainly a lot of interest from a photographer’s point of view. If you send me a private email (use the "contact" link on the main page of the blog) I will return a full-size copy of the photograph. Are you the seventh photo down, holding the phone and with the green/red hat? There is another photo lower down that could fit the description.

      Mike

  2. Nice work Mike. Very sharp images. You’ve had the Q for a while now – are they letting you keep it?
